Le Pain Quotidien: a Belgian concept :

Le Pain Quotidien is a bakery-restaurant chain founded in 1990 by Alain Coumont. Alain was displeased with the quality of the bread in Brussels, so he decided to start making his own sourdough bread using just 4 ingredients: water, flower, salt and time. His concept was successful since by now there are over 200 Le Pain Quotidien restaurants in 16 countries.

The position:

As Franchise Business Developer you will be responsible for identifying potential franchisees based in airports, trainstations, preparing franchise documentation, managing relationships with franchisees, conducting market research, developing marketing strategies, monitoring franchise performance, and identifying opportunities for growth. You will work closely with senior management, legal advisors, and franchisees to build and grow a successful franchise network.

  • Identify potential franchisees: you will need to research and identify individuals or organizations that may be interested in purchasing a franchise in your company. This requires research and networking.
  • Preparing franchise documentation: you will need to prepare franchise agreements, disclosure documents, and other necessary legal documents to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Managing relations with franchisees: you will be responsible for managing the relationships with franchisees, providing guidance and support to help them succeed in their businesses.
  • Conducting market research: you will need to conduct market research to identify potential markets for your franchise, and determine how to best reach them.
  • Identifying opportunities for growth: you will need to identify opportunities for growth and expansion of your franchise, whetjer through opening new locations or developing new products or services.

For this position you will often have to travel to the countries where you are developing partnerships and to our HQ in Brussels, Belgium. The other days you will be able to work from home.

Your profile:

  • You have experience in Business Development specificly for airports and other travel related locartions, preferably within hospitality.
  • You have strong communication (written and verbal) and relationship-building skills.
  • You are fluent in English; other languages are a plus!
  • You are a strategic thinker with pragmatic insight and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • You preferably have a bachelors degree In Business administration, marketing or a related field.

About us:

Le Pain Quotidien is internationally active with the HQ located in Belguim. For this role you can easily work from elsewhere seeing that a lot of the contact is digital by call. You’ll work in an international team of 4 people supporting Franchise Operations. You will be expected to travel 5-7 days a month for work.
